Andrew initially trained with a small independent practice before moving into a Big Four accountancy practice in Yorkshire. Wanting to get closer to the SME sector, he joined a mid tier firm and retained a portfolio of private and smaller listed companies, advising clients on a range of issues including financing, acquisitions and disposals, the adoption of IFRS and other business issues.
During this time Andrew broadened his experience on secondment to Science City York, working with entrepreneurial, fast growth and start up businesses, and was a member of the audit committee of York St John University.
Andrew joined UHY in 2011 as Director of Corporate Services. As well as leading delivery of compliance services (audit, accountancy and management accounts) he also has a proven track record in the delivery of business advisory services in the following areas:
- Strategic and Business Planning
- Due Diligence Reporting
- Grant Applications
When Andrew does have time out of work, he enjoys spending time with his young family, running and (despite the rain) hiking and camping in some of the fantastic local countryside.
