Derek heads the Business Services team at our Sheffield firm, UHY Wingfield Slater. He qualified from Liverpool University with a B.Com (Hons.) in 1967 and as a Chartered Accountant in 1971.
In 1995, Derek was instrumental in the merger with Wingfield Slater of what was originally his father’s practice, Norman Hemmingfield & Co. and he retains a strong rapport with both his personal and his corporate clients.
Derek provides business solutions to owner managers in various industry sectors, including traditional manufacturing and long-established local companies as well as new technology businesses. He has been involved with local community, youth and church projects and has a varied portfolio of Social Enterprise organizations, providing grant audit and business support to management.
Derek still finds time for his family and enjoys playing tennis and walking in the Peak District.
